On Thursday 6th October the minister took the opening meeting of the Women’s Union. He presented a multi-faith quiz, in which the ladies had to decide which of the six main world religions each object came from.

Have you heard the one about the three bus passes and the theologian?
I thought not.
For four days in early September three holders of bus passes and one theologian were closeted in The Windermere Centre. It was all in aid of producing professional quality Church Websites. I already had a Website running for our Church, but I wanted something better, more informative, something more useful in terms of sharing our vision of God’s kingdom. So I signed up for ‘Your own Website in a Week’. And it did what it said on the tin. Hard work – much head scratching – infinite patience by our tutor [Lawrence Moore], and by Thursday we had three Websites up and running. And the result? There have been one hundred and forty-four visits in the first 48 hours of the new site being on-line; compared with about 15 in the same period of time on the old site. Does your Church have a presence on the street? Does your Church have a presence on the virtual street? That’s where a lot of the communities we want to reach hang out! Thanks to Lawrence for all his help.
Derek G Corner,
Well worth a listen – Rowan Williams and Frank Skinner in conversation. A dialogue between the Archbishop of Canterbury and comedian, and practicing Roman Catholic, Frank Skinner. A breath of fresh air amongst the cobwebs of the cloisters.
