Everybody Welcome

Nationally the United Reformed Church is considering how to a response to a recent survey undertaken on behalf of the charity ‘Tear Fund’ which stated that over 2,000,000 people would come to Church if somebody asked them.

Some congregations have trailed a programme called ‘Everybody Welcome’ which they have found beneficial.  As we are approaching a time when we should be reviewing the Church Profile which was developed in the early stages of the vacancy, the Elders and also Church Meeting, agreed to run the ‘Everybody Welcome’ programme this autumn.

This is for all those who attend the church.  It was felt that the best time to hold the meetings would be after church.  Coffee and tea will be provided as usual, but bring your own sandwiches for a snack lunch. We would hope to begin each session at approximately 1.00 p.m. and intend to finish by 2.30 p.m., or very soon thereafter.

Please come, even if you can only manage one or two of the meetings.

Sunday 11th September                                   Sunday 9th October

Sunday 27th November                                    Sunday 11th December

Due to severe weather and a clash with other events in Hamilton the last two meetings were postponed.  They will be rescheduled for dates in February.

The two postponed meetings have been rearranged as follows:

Sunday 12th February 2012

Sunday 26th February 2012

The meetings took place as outlined above.  The outcomes of the discussions are being considered along with the Report which followed our denominational Pastoral Review.

Following comments during the meetings the entrance hall to the Church was redecorated and suitable posters and information leaflets produced to welcome visitors to the church.  The David Livingstone displays were rearranged, with original items being retained in the sanctuary, and newer items displayed in the vestibule.
